Garden Design Themes and Suggested Plantings Are Listed in The Categories Below
Pittsburgh is in USDA
Hardiness Zone 6b - suggested plants have either been grown in my
Pittsburgh gardens, or the design will list the zones they need to be grown in. Plants can
be substituted
for those in other zones if you like the design ideas - just use similar Zone
6 hardy plants.
...Easier still.... grow your favorite non-hardy plants in
containers - winter hardiness
zones won't matter, they're portable, easy care, and if you have room, finicky
plants can
spend
winter indoors and sleep it off ~ I do it with my lemon and fig trees, and
annual herbs.
